Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Congratulations to all of us for putting on a successful and enjoyable concert! If a successful performance means leaving the audience wanting more, then we've hit our goal! The only critical mark I heard on Sunday was on person's complaint that the Holst and Prokofiev were too short and he wanted to hear more of those pieces in particular. Anybody know who was taking photos in the audience? We would love to get copies of those for posting on Facebook and our website. If you have access to them -- or other good orchestra pictures -- please upload and email to evergreencommunityorchestra@gmail.com. For more concert notes, news, and acknowledges, please see our (attached) first ever newsletter! It is also available on the website at http://www.evergreencommunityorchestra.org/. A quick rundown: THANKS: First and foremost to our Maestro, Marci, for all the work he's put into help the ECO be the best it can be! To our guest artists Luke Fitzpatrick and Whitney Dopierak for joining us in our violin section, as well as to the members who donated so that we could provide modest honoraria to our guests! And many more in the newsletter... APOLOGIES: In our faux-pas-of-the-year-to-date, we got the name of one of the most hardworking, dedicated Board members in the program! Apologies to Michael Coats, our steadfast Librarian. SUMMER ORCHESTRA: Rehearsals for summer orchestra will resume Tuesday, May 30, and continue through the end of June as we prepare for upcoming summer performances. Details in the newsletter! KUDOS, COMMENTS, & SUGGESTIONS: In the newsletter, I took the liberty of pointing out some of my personal favorite moments from yesterday. In doing so, however, I've probably neglected to thank at least one or two people and have undoubtedly overlooked some other outstanding individual or sectional performances. Therefore, if you would like to, please feel free to send us your comments and kudos for inclusion in future newsletters! We also welcome any suggestions you may have for our future concerts. Thanks again, to all, for all, y'all, have done. gwen

A Great big "Thank You" to the orchestra at large for the gifts and kind thoughts shared on the card for David! It was a great idea and turned out to be an incredible gift. We pulled together for this occasion and together we provided a special thing, much needed in David and his family's life. Nice.
